CNN to acquire Mashable?
There are reports that the most popular news website in the US is planning to buy the world's most popular social media news site. A Reuters reporter stated that an announcement of the acquisition would arrive on Tuesday morning, but CNN declined to comment on the acquisition.

This wouldn't be the first time that CNN invests in technology based acquisitions, as it bought the iPad magazine app Zite for $25 million in 2011.

Japanese Ferrari YouTube star hit with speeding charges
A 50-year-old doctor was caught and hit with speeding charges after angry YouTube viewers tipped off the Japanese police last May. The doctor posted a video of himself driving a Ferrari 458 Italia dangerously on a Japanese highway and could now face a 6-month jail sentence or £778 fine.

The driver reportedly said he wanted people "to understand the beauty of a Ferrari."

Facebook releases "Interest Lists"
Facebook users can now subscribe to and create real-time interest lists. Users can find the 'interest list' tab on the homepage sidebar which will display the latest news for each list. Lists can be made private or shared publicly.

Nike releases its new FuelBand API
The API for Nike's new metric for tracking physical activity was released on Sunday at SxSW, following a hackathon. The metric, called NikeFuel, is used to measure your physical movement each day, and is displayed on the Fuelband (introduced last January).

The API will allow third-party developers to build apps or platforms that use or implement the NikeFuel metric.
