Facebook to copyright word 'book'?
With Facebook increasingly establishing itself as a household brand, the social network giant plans to trademark the word 'book'. The company has already trademarked the words 'wall', 'face', 'poke' and 'Friendfeed', so what's missing is just 'book'. But due to the word's ubiquity, it appears to be tougher to lockdown as a trademark.

Facebook recently updated its Site Governance section to say: ‘You will not use our copyrights or trademarks (including Facebook, the Facebook, and F Logos, FB, Face, Poke, Book, and Wall), or any confusingly similar marks, except as expressly permitted by our Brand Usage Guidelines or with our prior written consent.’

Instagram teases Android users<
After months of watching iPhone users brag about Instagram, Android users were finally given promising signs about the hipster camera app. A site with the Android robot and Instagram camera, merged in one, went live, with a 'notify me' box for users to enter their email addresses.  It's evidence that the 15 million-user app is on its way to Google's mobile platform and that there's not long to go.

Pinterest updates its Terms & Conditions to reassure users
Following the worrying coverage about Pinterest's policies a few weeks ago, the fledging social network overhauled its policies to protect user content. Madonna goes social by promoting her latest album on Facebook and Twitter
MDNA, Madonna's 12th studio album, was promoted solely on social networks and involved one in-person interview with Jimmy Fallon.

The interview was broadcast on Madonna's Facebook page and involved the singer/actress answering fan questions that were posted on the wall, this was then followed by a live Twitter chat in a similar format.  There was, however, no love for Google+.
