Five favourites from the week we finally discovered who killed Lucy Beale

By Danielle on 20 February 2015

We’re back, and boy do we have five wonders of the design, social and digital world to share with you - none of which are related to who may or may not have killed Lucy Beale (come on, we all know who did it). Here’s our five favourites from the week...

1. Cloud Hopper

Australian architect Jessie Lockhart-Krause might have christened this the Cloud Hopper, but to us, it’s basically the answer to all of our prayers. The hot air balloon swing is the folly of all follies, giving the sensation of floating in the sky while being firmly tethered to the ground at all times. Unfortunately at this stage, this joyful creation is merely just a proposal.

2. London landmarks get a terrible review

The streets of London might be steeped in history, ancient icons and jaw-dropping architecture, but for some disgruntled tourists, the capital just isn’t all that. These beautifully honest Yelp reviews say all the things we’re really thinking about the nation’s favourite treasures. Can you guess the landmark? - “The only fun thing to do here is go have a couple of pints at a pub then come here and take really provocative or silly poses on the lions.”

3. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and 805 million names

A powerful video with a powerful message. Swedish footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic used his already-heavily tattooed chest to temporarily display the names of 50 people suffering from hunger. The video forms part of the United Nations’ World Food Program to raise awareness of the 805 million suffering worldwide. Despite the gesture, Ibrahimovic still received a yellow card for his shirt stripping antics. Rules are rules, after all.

4. SKODA gets the eye

Skoda revealed their latest online ad this week, Fight for Attention, which uses pupil-tracking technology to analyse which car garners the most attention when a viewer is asked to watch two cars race. It might take a while to load, and you might feel severely uncomfortable and confused while trying to remain still, but the ad is still pretty easy on the eye.
