We've got our first Film Friends Forever event of the year is taking place tonight at the MPC. We're kicking off with the preview screening of the brilliant, and somewhat topical lately, Fifty Dead Men Walking. If you managed to get a seat, see you there!
So far in 2009 at least 11 bands have reunited for music tours, and album releases. These include Pavement, Pixies, Faith No More, The Stone Roses, Limb Bizkit etc. 2008 saw even more bands come back including Spice Girls, Take That, Boyzone. And of course we have just heard that Spandau Ballet are back. When times get tough, we instinctively seek sanctuary in things we are familiar with.
With the current demise of our economy a popular topic in the media, we might be forgiven forgetting another popular discourse... the decline of the newspapers. I think there is general consensus that unless they adapt and change with the times, their lives will become much more difficult. A little puzzling then, is the execution of the campaign that has been launched in the States aiming to combat the popular opinion that newspapers are in decline.
We just returned from a trip to Lithuania for the Nokia Trends Lab event.
Imperial Leisure went to Islington Arts & Media School to help year 11's prepare for their for life after comprehensive school. We taught skills in CV, interviews, and applications.
